Celebrating the Life of a Dear Friend Virginia Lyn Tarquinio 1934 - 2009




Virginia Lyn Tarquinio passed away in her home in Chatsworth, California on Friday July 10, 2009 .
A native of California, Virginia was born in Los Angeles, on April 21, 1934 to Peter and Hazel (Anderson) Bertoglio.




Virginia Lyn Bertoglio joined the Beverly Hills Police Department in 1956, and retired in 1980, with 24 years of service as a Police Matron and Police Officer.




















Known as Lyn to most in the Beverly Hills Police Department, she was known as Ginger to her lifetime friend Beverly Hills Police Department Officer William "Bill" Hutchins who predeceased her in 2005.














Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred Tarquinio, Deputy Chief of the Beverly Hills Fire Department, who she married in 1969 at age 35.










A great lover of German Shepherd Dogs she was a long standing Board Member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of Los Angeles.

She was a loving "mommy" to many German Shepherds including Gabriel, Mandy, Bear, Tubby and most recently Emmy and Champion Dream Weavers Merlot.

She was a supporter and advocate of The American German Shepherd Dog Charitable Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding research projects pertaining to the health of the German Shepherd Dog.




She leaves behind many friends in the police, fire and dog communities. She will be dearly missed and ALWAYS REMEMBERED by all who knew her and loved her.
